Welcome to Sportsmans Resort North & South

Sportsmans Resort North & South, nestled on the tranquil shores of Reelfoot Lake's Upper Blue Basin in Tiptonville, Tennessee, represents an authentic escape from the hurried pace of modern life. This down-to-earth retreat garners a solid 4.2-star rating, beloved for its rustic charm and genuine hospitality rather than luxury. The resort’s simple, well-kept cabins and motel-style rooms provide a comfortable, homey atmosphere where visitors feel welcomed and cared for.

What truly defines Sportsmans Resort is the heartfelt connection fostered by owners Bill and Candy. Their warmth and dedication turn each visit into a memorable experience, highlighted by kindness that permeates the entire property. Guests like Jared Valentine and Brent Ratliff praise not only the natural beauty and excellent fishing grounds but also the owners’ enduring presence, which elevates the stay beyond mere lodging.

The resort is a haven for anglers and families alike, offering affordable fishing packages and easy access to abundant crappie fishing. Despite its rustic Bayou-inspired aesthetic—free from pretentious décor or extravagant frills—Sportsmans Resort expertly combines simplicity with functionality. Amenities such as air-conditioned rooms, outdoor pool, kitchen facilities in every unit, and kid-friendly activities enhance the visitor experience without diluting the charm of this Mom & Pop getaway.

Outdoor enthusiasts find themselves immersed in nature, just minutes from the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge. Whether fishing, exploring the local wildlife, or simply relaxing by the lake, the resort provides an unpretentious sanctuary where time slows down. Visitors like Janet Draper and Eric Walker echo this sentiment, recounting warm memories and a strong desire to return year after year, drawn by the genuine family atmosphere and the peaceful surroundings.

Sportsmans Resort North & South stands out not by grandeur but by heart. It is a place where simple pleasures — the quiet splash of a fishing line, the bark of a friendly hound named Miss Suzie, the company of like-minded souls — intertwine to create a deeply satisfying experience. For those seeking authenticity, warmth, and a close-knit community in nature’s embrace, this resort is more than a destination; it’s a return to what matters most.

The pure beauty of the this lake and simplicity of dwellings provided were overshadowed by the kindness of Bill and Candy. I can't wait to return! PS. It took everything I could not to bring Miss Suzie home. She is a not only a wonderful hound, but an impatient dockmate waiting for the boat to return for her snacks.

1. Don't expect some 5 star place of the rich and famous, this place is a beautiful quiet, on the waters edge, Mom and Pop place. It has the old rustic Bayou look. You have a choice of motel/hotel type rooms, or cabins. The prices for fishing packages are affordable. The owners are great folks. We went in July,( off season if you're out for crappie) we already planning our return vacation for our next visit

We just spent 2 days and 2 nights at Sportsmans Lodge North. The owners were awesome, down home people who want you to have a good experience. Even after a tornado placed damage on their resort Candy and Bill ( owners) did all they could to put us on fish. Stormy weather and rain didn't help much, but they put us on fish and fish we caught. Don't expect chandeliers made of antlers and shag carpet. We had a nice clean room with all the anemeties right on the water and excellent hosts. This is a fish camp and at this camp you will catch fish.

My husband and I stayed at north resort for past 3 days. Was a 15 yr anniversary for us. We fished, met many very nice people, the owners and people working there were just great. Our little cabin was awesome. Was very homey,, clean,, anything we needed they got for us. The price for all that was included was great! We hated to leave but know we will be returning next year for sure. Thank you for a great experience and great time. Janet and Wayde

We came here to stay for an event for our small business. We were pleasantly surprised by the serene views and atmosphere. There is a bait shop which offers every kind of live bait ran by the sweetest lady. This place may not be luxurious, but it’s everything you need to take a break from the world. RV pads were nice and level. They also have the sweetest welcoming committee (dogs pictured). We’re very grateful we found this place and will 100% be back.

Had a great visit at Sportsman Resort. The owners Candy and Bill were great host. Went with 3 Army buddies I served in Afghanistan with and retired with. Bill is an Army veteran himself. Even though we went for fishing our trip was more about our own journey. We plan on returning for our next visit.

North end was friendly, and accommodating. Cabins are well kept albeit a little older. But can't wait to go back again and get me some more crappie!
